Resources
The following is a listing (alphabetized by author) of the most influential sources of my research while writing The Enlightened saga. Much of my research came from primary sources, such as letters and order books of army officers, many of which are available to view for free on U.S. government websites. When such materials were collected into print form, they have been listed below.

Playlist
Just for fun - the following is the playlist of my go-to music that played in the background while I wrote The Enlightened saga. Feel free to give these soundtracks a listen when you read to see if it adds to the story for you, as well!
Assassin’s Creed III (2012), game soundtrack by Lorne Balfe
John Adams (2008), miniseries soundtrack by Rob Lane and Joseph Vitarelli
Game of Thrones, specifically loops of “Winterfell” and “The Frozen North”, soundtrack by Ramin Djawadi
Gladiator (2000), soundtrack by Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard
The Last of the Mohicans (1992), soundtrack by Trevor Jones
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe (2000), soundtrack by Michael J. Lewis
Outlander, soundtrack for complete series by Bear McCreary
Poldark, Ultimate Collection (2019), soundtrack for complete series by Anne Dudley
Turn: Washington’s Spies, instrumental soundtrack by Marco Beltrami
Because this soundtrack is almost entirely vocal, this soundtrack was my go-to for when I was scouring the internet for information or focusing on marketing projects. I cannot write to music that contains vocals.
Song that would play over the closing credits of a filmed version of :
Witness to the Revolution: “My Tears Ricochet” by Taylor Swift
The General’s Watch: “Head Above Water” by Avril Lavigne
